Destination Unknown
This collection of mainly instrumental songs was me learning how to use the tracker Jeskola Buzz, back in 2001, I had slow PC, a dreadful cheap PC microphone, and I used it to record samples of guitar, throwing it through a load of effects and synths to get something that sounded alright. I had no idea of how to record or mix anything, it was a case of, I have these tools at my disposal so what can I make out of it? I will admit drums have never been my strong point, so they’re either fairly random or incredibly simple and repetitive. I sampled some Jesus Jones drum beats from a couple of their 12″ mixes. This was never intended to be used for anything, it’s more a document of me learning and experimenting with different things that were free. There’s something about the naivety of when you first go through that period of creating something that only really happens once, because you always learn from it, and it’s a very particular thing that ceases to exist when that period ends. I lost so many of the files I used here, I probably only have three or four of them around.

Falling Off The Edge Of Midnight
This collection was me trying to come up with something a bit more “serious”. Originally supposed to be 24 tracks representing 24 hours and all the tracks mixing in and out of each other. It turned out completely differently, 12 tracks, half of them sound unfinished. Lack of patience on my part.

The ‘OO’ Experiment
I wanted to make something geared towards winding down and drifting off to sleep. I’d stumbled across a generator that was capable of producing the low frequencies of alpha, delta and theta waves, so I wove it into some mellow ambient sounds. For the best experience, block out the word using a decent pair of headphones. The ‘Blue-oo-sound’ is available here for to stream or download for free via The House Above The World’s Bandcamp page.

Miscellany
This is collection of bits and pieces from 2001-2015. It’s a collection of homeless tracks, demos and a couple of remixes. It would never comprise an album but there’s something about some of these tracks. One or two might get some reworking in the future.

Remixes
Here is where any remixes I’ve made will live. Here is where I vandalise re-work other people’s tracks. There’s only a couple at the moment, but one I made without listening to the original, just working with samples and midi files. The other was a copy of a tune from a friend’s project The Seed of the Angel Mechanism.
