2022: Music
Here is this year’s list of album’s I’ve picked up with promo and live videos thrown in along the way because sometimes listening to something is better than reading someone’s half baked opinion on it (Paul Morley anyone) so I’ve just left a bit of blurb for each. I’ve probably missed something, but happy listening!
‘Air Odeon Disco Pub’ – Abdoujaparov
Re-issued for the first time on vinyl for it’s 20th anniversary, its Abdoujaparov’s debut album.
‘Staring At Mountains’ – Adam Ross
Adam Ross, made his own little video to introduce the album.
‘Wish’ – The Cure
Finally the deluxe version of Wish had been released! Robert was not happy with the mix of the original album, so it’s been remastered to sound the way he originally envisioned it sounding.
‘Shufflemania’ – Robyn Hitchcock
Back with his I think 31st album?
‘Punk Dancing For Self Defence’ – Breakup Haircut
Another band discovered through a casual mention by Keith Top of the Pops. An album full of earworms!
‘The Voltarol Years – Half Man Half Biscuit
They’re back, and this is an album I’ve had on repeat most of the year. Chockablock with astute observations, humour and wit.
Things Can Change – Miles Hunt
Miles has released what he thinks is his last solo album.
‘Some of the Answers’ – Jesus Jones
An anthology of almost everything they’ve recorded. 15 CDs packed with tunes! And I think the only band I saw this year?
