The Xmas Music Post
It’s that time of year again when everyone either loves or loathes Last Christmas by Wham! Although they all come together in wanting to put an end to Mariah Carey.
I thought I’d what together a post of ALL the Xmas tunes that actually worth listening to from now and in the past. Lots of stuff you won’t have heard and lots you will have. This is a mix of Bandcamp and YouTube links.
A nice tune about Christmas, no swears or anything, just good clean fun. Find out more here: https://thekrackpots.bandcamp.com/
What now? How about a bit of Fightmilk? They’ve release two Xmas EPs
Th Fightmilk and Cookies EP featuring the classic I’m Dreaming Of A Christmas Where you Just Explode. Or how about The Fight Before Christmas featuring the fantastic It’s Only Christmas (Cheer Up You Moody Prick)
A couple of offering from Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine, one is a Christmas version of Shopper’s Paradise and a cover of Lonely This Christmas
There was also the post Carter USM venture Who’s The Daddy Now? with The Beeper Song, and this cracker… Daddy Christmas
Keith Top of the Pops, released his own Christmas covers EPs
Who’s next? It’s Michael M who releases material under his own name and his band Slime City. He made an great Xmas EP. One where the first line of some Xmas songs are repeated throughout the song to the correct tune and a couple of bangers of his own.
Who can forget ‘The Shat’?
Here is what is probably my favourite of the modern Xmas songs, it’s Randolph’s Leap and the Olive Grove All-Stars. Randolph’s Leap also did an Xmas album.
Quality electronic dance outfit Spray with a re-writing of their own song for Christmas.
The Black Arts
Now a couple tracks featuring Art Brut’s Eddie Argos, and The Vessel from David Devant and his Spirit Wife
And on to the Christmas classics…
